the lovely Daeja Fallas through the lense of fellow photographer David Black

a recent work by Daeja Fallas

Photographer Daeja Fallas is an inspiration on so many levels. We are not sure whether it’s her years she spent living in Paris or her miles earned from bouncing from New York to Hawaii, but Daeja has a knack for always looking fabulous in the most understated ways. Whether she is working in her current home of NYC or traveling abroad, Daeja lives, works and loves with style, creativity and a uniqueness all her own. This is why we were thrilled when she shared her list of V-day desires and why they’re so covetable.

Tanzanite petite shark tooth earrings by Dezso by Sarah Beltran:

These are feminine in size, just small enough to notice and edgy enough in design pairing the sharks teeth with precious stones that they are the perfect accessory for me.  I love small pieces with great details that you never want to take off, versatility is key for me as I am often from my studio to a meeting or dinner without time to get home and change. These earrings are perfect with jeans and a tee or a pretty spring dress as a little edge to a feminine look.

1930s wooden folding chairs

Since our spaces are so small in New York we are constantly looking for ways to maximize the space we do have without having to shop exclusively at IKEA. These circa 1930′s folding lawn chairs are so pretty and small enough to fit 5-6 in a small coat closet. I love that they are easy to store, easy to move around the house and pretty enough to throw a little pillow on for company when they pop in. I have one and would like to find 4-5 more!

Drifting Arrows cross back one piece.
I grew up on the north shore of Maui with a family that owned a popular bikini shop in Honolulu. I have always been around swimwear and love how you can literally live in it. Growing up a bikini and towel was acceptable attire for the local grocery store or plate lunch place. Now that I’m a little older towels are not really my preferred cover up. This one piece is perfect for a quick surf then slipping on a cute floor length skirt of pareo to meet friends in on my trip home in March!
